A big thank-you to all the staff and volunteers who came out for a 2nd event held on short notice. It is so appreciated by the participants, coaches, and racers. We note that many devoted the better part of two weekends to NL Cup events, including the provincials this past weekend at BMD, due to lack of snow in Clarenville. The staff also keep showing a real love and understanding of the spirit of community ski racing, and put the work in to make it happen.A congratulations to Brian Moores who is now a level III race official after his time in Whistler last week. These last two events brought back competitors across the province for the first time in over 2 years. We could see connections forged between young competitors of different clubs that are going to be motivating and rewarding for years to come. Quite a bit of fun was had with vintage race suits shared among the competitors…we had some teens skiing in the 1987 Canada games and 1990 provincial team suits, as well as some flashy biathlon kit.Great to see a few masters in action, and next year we hope that more join in the fun.
